It can take many forms, including attempted rape, fondling or unwanted sexual touching, forcing a victim to perform sexual acts, and body penetration. Sexual assault is a serious crime with long-term consequences for victims. Physical injuries, emotional trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can all result.
